By 2026, Poland plans to spend 50 billion dollars on its army and everyone keeps quiet, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday.
On Friday in Minsk, a second event called the "Grand Discussion with the President" took place with participation of the media, civic organisations and some of the opposition parties.
Poland can and Russia can’t? Lukashenko: it’s hypocrisy
Lukashenko mentioned Poland in the context of objectivity of media and fake news threat.
"Poland wants to spend 50 billion dollars on army by 2026 and everyone keeps quiet. If someone would write tomorrow that Russia planned to dispatch another regiment west of Moscow, there would be a massive scandal. We must work out coherent criteria with regards to approaching such issues," said the President of Belarus.
He declared that his country "will never be a source of any war or conflict, especially against Poland".
Together, but in separate homes
"If we held a referendum today, 98 percent of Belarusians would vote against unification with Russia," said Lukashenko.
He explained that it’s "not because they (Belarusians) against Russia, but because they think it’s possible to live together, but in separate homes, each in their own".
