Eleven Polish citizens including ambassador evacuated from Sudan

Eleven Polish citizens have been evacuated from Sudan in French and Spanish convoys. Some of them are Polish diplomats, including the ambassador, as well private individuals - Polish MFA spokesperson Łukasz Jasina said on Monday (April 24). He thus confirmed earlier reports by Spanish media outlets. The Polish citizens have been evacuated from Sudan due the ongoing civil war in the African country.

German MOD: any decisions on deployment of Patriot systems to be consulted with allies

Germany's Defence Ministry said any decisions on its deployment of Patriot air-defence systems to Poland and Slovakia will be discussed with allies in Europe, after a report said Berlin planned to end the deployment by the end of the year. Poland's Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said later on Friday that the dialogue on the presence of German Patriot air-defence systems in Poland was continuing.

Poland and U.S. sign a deal on outer space information exchange

Polish Space Agency (POLSA) announced on Thursday (April 20) it signed an agreement with the United States Space Command and Poland's Defence Ministry regarding exchange of information about outer space. "The rapidly increasing number of objects in the orbit and the need to maintain peaceful use of outer space require tighter international cooperation," said POLSA President Prof. Grzegorz Wrochna.

The Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko told TVN24 reporter on Thursday that he had a message to people in Poland. Statistics Poland updates GDP growth data for 2021 and 2022

Poland's gross domestic product in 2022 increased by 5.1% year on year, against the previously forecast 4.9% - Poland's Central Statistical Office (Statistics Poland) said in the final estimate released on Thursday. The stats office added that the previous year - in 2021 - the country's GDP had increased by 6.9%, compared to 6.8% from the previous estimate.

Agriculture minister confirms Poland reached deal on transit of Ukrainian grain

International investigation: surveillance devices on the roofs of Russian embassies across Europe

At least 182 surveillance antennas have been located at the roofs of Russian embassies across Europe, according to the cross-border ESPIOMATS investigation carried out by European journalists. Central bank: core inflation in March hits all-time high

Core inflation in March 2023 in Poland was at 12.3% year on year - according to a statement released by the National Bank of Poland on Monday (April 17). This is the highest-ever core inflation recorded in Poland. In February this year, this indicator stood at 12%.

Statistics Poland: inflation in March at 16.1% year on year

Inflation in Poland remains in double digits, way above the central bank's target. According to the country's Central Statistical Office (Statistics Poland), the highest year-on-year spike was recorded in the price of sugar, heating, milk, and eggs. There are, however, some products which became less expensive.
