He thus confirmed earlier reports by Spanish media outlets. The Polish citizens have been evacuated from Sudan due the ongoing civil war in the African country.

Poland's gross domestic product in 2022 increased by 5.1% year on year, against the previously forecast 4.9% - Poland's Central Statistical Office (Statistics Poland) said in the final estimate released on Thursday. The presidents of Poland, Israel and Germany lit candles alongside Holocaust survivors and their relatives at the Nożyk Synagogue in Warsaw on Wednesday (April 19) to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the start of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. The synagogue is the only surviving prewar Jewish place of worship in Warsaw.

The European Union is preparing 100 million euros ($109.32 million) of compensation for farmers in countries bordering Ukraine and plans to introduce restrictions on imports of Ukrainian cereals, a European Commission spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Poland has reached an agreement on restarting transit of Ukrainian grains through its territory as of Friday, Polish Agriculture Minister Robert Telus said on Tuesday, adding transits would be monitored and sealed. Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said in Warsaw that Ukrainian exporters would respect terms of deal with Poland.

According to the Polish Press Agency (PAP) and Reuters, Poland has presented a draft of new round of sanctions against Russia for its aggression against Ukraine. If all 27 EU member states agree on the proposal, it will be the 11th package of sanctions against Moscow.

A new section of the Legacy Gallery has been opened at POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. It tells the story of the famous Warner brothers who, after emigrating from Poland to the United States, established the legendary film studios. Warner Bros. is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding.

Core inflation in March 2023 in Poland was at 12.3% year on year - according to a statement released by the National Bank of Poland on Monday (April 17). This is the highest-ever core inflation recorded in Poland. In February this year, this indicator stood at 12%.

Inflation in Poland remains in double digits, way above the central bank's target.
